In addition to existing call processing support for the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX™ Communication Servers, the Alcatel-Lucent IP Touch 4008EE/4018EE phones can also be configured as Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) endpoints and, therefore, operate in a standard SIP environment.

The Alcatel-Lucent IP Touch 4008EE/4018EE phones are part of a smooth migration from legacy IP telephony to the SIP world.
